I am unable to check the status of my application online. How may I check my status?

If you are unable to check your status on the application status page, please be sure that you are entering your name EXACTLY as it was entered on the application. All spacing, hyphenation, etc. must be exactly the same. If you are unsure about exactly how you entered your name, birth date, etc., you may log into your application to review it. Please note that if your first name exceeds 10 characters (ex. 'Christopher'), you must truncate it when checking your status.

The online application does not let me save any of the dates that I enter.

If your DATES do not save, or are returned blank, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:

For Windows XP Users:

1. Enter the CONTROL PANEL from the Windows start menu.
2. Select REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE OPTIONS.
3. Chose ENGLISH (UNITED STATES) from the drop-down menu.
4. Click OK.
5. Save your application and exit your web browser.
6. Log back in and continue the application. Dates will now save

My online status indicates that my credential was not received, but I confirmed that it was delivered to your office within the past week.

Please be advised that it may take some time for us to open, image, and completely process your application materials. This particulary applies during the months of December and January. Allow at least 5 business days for your materials to be processed and reflected in the online system. The status screen is updated every 24 hours and is the most up-to-date and accurate means to check your application status.

One or more of my recommenders have not received their notification. What can I do?

There are many reasons why your recommenders may have not received their notification. Their e-mail address may have been incorrect, or has changed, their spam settings may have deleted the message, or they simply may have deleted it by mistake. Unfortunately, our system currently cannot 'resend' these requests. If your application was submitted and one of your recommenders does not receive a request within 24 hours, he/she must submit the letter either via paper or fax. We're sorry, but there are no exceptions.

I wish to change one of my recommenders. What should I do?

Unfortunately, once your application is submitted, there is no way to change an electronic recommender. If you wish to change recommenders, you may have them submit paper letters of recommendation. There is no need to contact our office to indicate the change - they will be processed accordingly.

Some of my recommenders wish to use electronic letters of recommendation, while others wish to send their recommendation via paper. How do I do this?

We're sorry, but there currently is no way to differenciate paper and electronic recommenders on the application. If you wish, however, we suggest that you indicate that all recommenders wish to submit letters electronically, and simply tell the ones who wish to submit paper to simply ignore the request that they receive. Regardless of how recommendations are submitted, they will all be matched to your file for review.

What is the TOEFL / GRE code for Rutgers?

Rutgers' TOEFL and GRE code is 2790. We do not use department codes. Simply enter '00' or any other number of your chosing.

Where is a list of Rutgers' department codes?

Rutgers does not utilize department codes. Enter '00' or any other number. Your scores will be received regardless of what you chose.

I requested that my GRE and/or TOEFL score be sent to Rutgers, but my status indicates that it has not been received, or is 'self-reported.'

GRE and TOEFL scores are sent electronically, directly from ETS to Rutgers and automatically matched to your application, so there is little chance for human error. Most applicants encounter problems if they spelled or punctuated their name differently on the ETS score card and the Rutgers application. Scores will not match if the name is different - even if it's by a single space. In these cases we recommend that applicants send of fax a paper copy of their score(s) for review. They will remain unofficial, but an admissions decision can usually be made on the copies.

When should I submit my financial documentation?

Financial documentation is not required for NEW BRUNSWICK applicants until admission is offered. Due to the fact that many programs offer international students funding, and documents must be current at the time of admission, it is recommended that you wait until admission to submit them. Rutgers Business School requires financial documentation before admissions is offered. Submit financial documentation with application credentials.
